It´s the Final Countdown - Ibiza

Tuesday, July 1, 2014

Depressing, but true. I only have a few days left in this amazing city.
It always blows my mind how fast the weeks go by, because at the same time, I feel like I´ve been here for forever. I´m really not ready to leave, but I´m gonna make sure to come back soon.

To celebrate my last full weekend in Europe, I took a short flight to a little place called Ibiza.

10 pounds later...

Fair warning, this post is basically pictures of food..oops.

Due to the fact that I am the world´s worst procrastinator (no really, ask my parents) I missed my chance to go to Prague this past weekend. Which yeah, huge bummer...
BUT, instead, I spent the weekend getting to know Barcelona a little better! I lead a rough life, I know.

Yeah this place rocks

Land o´ the Irish

So let´s talk Ireland.

Holy goodness people. This place ROCKED. Not only is it absolutely gorgeous, (I mean just look at it) the people and the culture are just so inviting and welcoming that it just made me so happy!!

Back in Action - Paris Day 2-3

After not having an iPhone for what seemed like centuries, I am officialy no longer MIA! Honestly, I don´t know how anyone ever made it without a smart phone. PTL for technology. Fingers crossed this phone lasts longer than my old one...

The temperatures in Barcelona this week, and Paris this past weekend, have basically shot up overnight. And yes, by shot up, I mean its like in the 80s. But after enjoying the 70 degree temperatures before that, it´s rough. Thank goodness I´m not in Texas right now!

Sleep when you´re dead... Week 2 / Paris Day 1

Tuesday, June 10, 2014

That´s basically been the motto for this past weekend, and I have a feeling that it won´t change for the rest of my time in Europe. But when there´s so much to see/do, why do that anyways?? So apologies in advance cause this post is gonna be a long one...

This past week and weekend was pretty jam packed. On Wednesday I had a cooking class where a group of us made traditional Spainish/Catalan food which included; pan con tomate, gazpacho, tortilla de patata, paella, and crema catalana. Everything was so good, I probably ate my weight in food. And better yet, we were given the recipes so I can try and make the food again!! I helped make the gazpacho and crema catalana which means they obviously tasted the best...(jk no the paella rocked)

Barcelona: 1, Maria: 0

Definitely not holding this against Barcelona, but less than a week of me being here, and I am now iPhone-less. Until my parents send me my old iPhone, I am now the proud owner of a super high-tech flip phone!! It doesn´t even have a camera so there´s that. On the plus side, I haven´t had this much ending phone calls in a long long time. I can also only assume that the current King of Spain has heard of my tragedy and abdicated the throne in response to such a failure during his reign. Hopefully the future monarch, Felipe, won´t have to do the same...

Vale, Vale, Vale

Two long flights later, and I've made it to Barcelona! And let me tell you, I've never been so jealous of a person snoring as I was on the plane ride over...

I got so restless that the man sitting next to me asked if I needed to stand up and stretch my legs. Needless to say, I made sure I didn't move half as much as I had been before that comment. And after many hours, I had FINALLY arrived.

Back to Barca

They couldn't keep me away for long...
