Definitely not holding this against Barcelona, but less than a week of me being here, and I am now iPhone-less. Until my parents send me my old iPhone, I am now the proud owner of a super high-tech flip phone!! It doesn´t even have a camera so there´s that. On the plus side, I haven´t had this much ending phone calls in a long long time. I can also only assume that the current King of Spain has heard of my tragedy and abdicated the throne in response to such a failure during his reign. Hopefully the future monarch, Felipe, won´t have to do the same...

But anyways, despite the phone situation, I´ve still been having such a great time here so far! The first full week was spent getting used to my internship (it rocks, Share is Fashion, check it out), my apartment, and the city. Basically, I´m an expert at the metro already.

After walking up and down the beach about a million times in the past week, I felt like it was time for a change. So, a group of us decided to go see a flamenco show one night! I was exhausted just watching the dancer, what with all the twirling and spinning and stepping...I tried to get a few pictures, which as you can see aren´t the greatest. I´m obviously not meant to be an action-shot photographer.

This weekend we went on a day trip to these two towns about 30 minutes outside of Barcelona called Sitges and Codorniu. Codorniu is a town that has two of the largest producers of cava, which is Spain´s version of champagne. I´d been to wine tours before, but never at this large a scale, so seeing it was still cool. Like honestly, who wouldn´t love to be in massive rooms with walls and walls of wine and cava?? I took more pictures here than I did at Sitges, so I think that says something. Probably not a good something though...

Lots of wine and cava...
I mean a lot of it..

Best part of the tour!
Afterwards we went to Sitges, which is a pretty little beach town. I was told that, this is one of the places that Barcelona locals go to actually have a nice beach day, since their beaches are over run with tourists (sorry bout it.) There´s a church that overlooks the beach and the town, and is a great place to just sit and observe for a little while.

It started to rain while we were there, so our trip got cut a little short. But since the town is a 4 euro train ride from Barcelona, I´m pretty sure I´ll try and go back at some point.

This week´s weather looks amazing so I hope that I get to walk around and explore the city even more!
