Fair warning, this post is basically pictures of food..oops.

Due to the fact that I am the world´s worst procrastinator (no really, ask my parents) I missed my chance to go to Prague this past weekend. Which yeah, huge bummer...
BUT, instead, I spent the weekend getting to know Barcelona a little better! I lead a rough life, I know.

Yeah this place rocks

Barcelona had a holiday on Tuesday, and my supervisor at work kindly let me have work off on Monday as well. So it was a really really long weekend. Which meant that I walked around the city, ate a TON, and enjoyed the nightlife a little more.

Friday, I spent most of my day walking around this neighborhood in Barcelona called El Born. It´s probably one of my favorite areas in the entire city. It has the cutest stores, such great food, and is just so pretty! (As seen above. This neighborhood also has one of my very favorite markets in the city. It´s called Mercat Santa Caterina. I actually like it way more than the famous Boqueria, mostly because it´s smaller, not as crowded, and you get to spend more time wandering around without wanting to kill yourself.

I love picking up a fresh squeezed juice (my fav is pineapple and orange) and then just walking around the market, and then El Born.

Later on, I stumbled on this little pastry shop called Caelum. I got to talking to a lady who works there, and she explained to me that all of the goodies that they sold were made my nuns and monks, and as such, lots of the profits go to convents and monasteries! They have a little table set up with pastries and you just walk up, pick one out, and they´ll bring it out to you! They also played Louis Armstrong and Frank Sinatra, like, the whole time I was there. Needless to say, I was there for a whileeeee.

The next day, I finally went to this restaurant called Picnic! Back home, I basically live for brunch, and this place is supposed to have really good brunch. So duh, I had to go. It didn´t disappoint.
Recommendations: pink lemonade with vodka, onion rings, and you MUST get the fried green tomatoes. My friend Jackie and I are basically obsessed. Didn´t get a good picture of them, but you have to try them.

As if we hadn´t eaten enough, on the way to the beach we stopped to get ice cream. Because, really, who can turn down ice cream with eyes right?

And then, to end the marathon day of eating, Jackie and I went to this restaurant that a native Barcelonian (Barceloner? No idea)  told us about right by the beach. It´s called La Bombeta, and guys, my search for good sangria is OVER. Barcelona isn´t known for having the best sangria, but this one is my jam. I didn´t even get a chance to take a picture, because I´m pretty sure we downed it in like two seconds. But the food was also really good, and you have to get the bombas, which is the restaurants name sake. So good, even if they don´t look particularly appetizing.

And after eating so much, and going out that night, Sunday was basically a day of rest and doing nothing. But Monday was the day people celebrated the San Joan festival! Basically, you go on the beach, drink, watch fireworks, and then go out! So it´ll be my substitute Fourth of July since I´ll still be here.

I honestly can´t believe that after this weekend, I´ll only have one week here! It´s gone by so fast, and I absolutely am not ready to leave yet. But at least I´ll be spending my last full weekend here in Ibiza!! Seriously so excited, fingers crossed I make it back alive... Also looking forward to the fact that my little brother will be joining me in Barcelona next week!!!!!! Eeeeeeeeeee.

Hope everyone has a really great weekend, cause I for sure will!
